LCCAA Joins Chapter in Celebrating Ten Years at Virginia Commonwealth University

Updated: May 10, 2020

RICHMOND, VA - Alumni and undergraduate brothers from the Lambda Chi Chapter gathered from across the country on a Zoom call Friday, April 17, 2020, to celebrate the Chapter's ten-year anniversary on campus. The celebration started late in the afternoon and lasted throughout the evening. Brothers from nearly every pledge class were present, sharing stories of their time in the chapter and hearing about where the chapter is now.

Steve Wistrom (Lambda Chi, '10), President of the Lambda Chi Chapter Alumni Association, said he was glad to see so many brothers on the video conference call. "With the extensive closures and social distancing policies in place to help quell the current global pandemic, we were disappointed that events planned to celebrate this incredible milestone had fallen through in Richmond. While we obviously would have preferred to meet in person, this was the next best thing."

"We've done a few of these 'digital happy hours' over the last several weeks," said Joshua Ronk (Lambda Chi, '10). "It just made sense to set something up for our Chapter's Founders Day. My hope is that we can continue these on at least a monthly basis. It's great for morale during this stay-at-home period."

Plans had initially been made by the Chapter to host a black-tie event at the Science Museum of Virginia in March to celebrate the occasion. When the severity of COVID-19 increased, the Chapter was forced to postpone the event until August. The newly scheduled Ten-Year Anniversary is set for August 22, 2020. Ticket information and additional details on the event will be announced in the coming months as the Chapter continues to monitor the situation in Richmond.
